Free Advertising

Free advertising is usually a gimmick to get you to purchase something.  However, when you have no budget for advertising, there are a few sources you might want to use. Of course, there is AdlandPro, who has been around for many years.

Adboards are an updated (Free-for-All) FFA pages. Here is one I own.  You place your ad free and you are notified when your posting expires.  The board owner sends you two messages:  Thanks and  Your Ad Has Expired.  In these emails are as much advertising as the board owner wants.  However, if you can write a good headline that grabs attention, you can get clickthroughs to your opportunity.

The best free advertising is done through traffic exchanges, link exchanges and social networking sites.

Sponsored Postings

If you wish to make a splash, you may want to start a campaign with paid to blog advertising companies.  Blogs are easily and quickly indexed (listed on search engine results pages) by the search engines. By having links pointing to your site, you may raise your page rank.  It is a short cut to the SEO process and one that Google frowns upon.

Paid to blog (PTB) programs offer established blogs with visitors, incoming links and page rank. PTB programs do not accept blogs with adult content, violence, warez, hate or excessive profanity; also, your blog may not link to such sites. This rule is more because all the PTBs use PayPal, rather than because of any moral stance.

You may select the page rank, category, traffic level and other criteria for the bloggers you want to blog about your business, product or service.

Here is a link to a series of articles on PTB programs on CoolAdzine for Marketers blog.  There are more programs now, but this will give you the general idea.  Be aware that you can be penalized by the search engines for using paid links or sponsored postings.

Text Link Ads

is just one of many link brokers on the Internet. Just beware of the penalty that one search engine may choose to use to reduce your page rank.
